Turn into Google classroom by END OF CLASS for the extra credit. Be sure to save yourself a copy of the .ai file so that you can continue editing it in the future. Learning Objective: Students will participate in the creative process to make a music poster from conception to final print. Students will research band poster design, draw up multiple sketches, and research and practice new Photoshop and Illustrator techniques. Students will create two different music posters. One poster using any kind of imagery that they want, and a second poster focusing solely on typography. How to set up your document Create an 11 x 17 inches music poster. (This is called TABLOID size) You can use whatever program you want, but if working in Photoshop, make sure to set the resolution to 300 and make it an RGB image. You will design TWO different styles of posters. Version 1: Music poster using any kind of imagery you want. Version 2: Create a second poster that is ONLY typographic. This poster should focus on the TYPE as the main area of interest, and you can use elements of art such as lines, shapes, patterns etc. What band/musical artist will you choose?

They will analyze posters for their imagery, as well as for their use of typography. Using Google Slides... Page 1 Collect 10 + images of poster designs you find inspiring. This will have to go on it's OWN page. Page 2 Collect 10 + images of poster designs that focus on the TYPOGRAPHY that you find inspiring. Write under each image WHY you find that inspiring. See examples attached.

Arts Walk is a celebratory event showcasing all of the Arts at East High School including: Dance, choir, theater, robotics, band, jazz, creative writing, and visual arts. Winner wins $175 (I think....could be more) and their logo will be used on all of the promotional material for Arts Walk. The logo will also be printed and hung in the permanent art gallery in the hallway at East. Milestone Deadlines:

An icon or figure representing a particular person in video games, Internet forums, etc. Design Specifications: Create a new document that is 11 inches x 17 inches LANDSCAPE style for your art board size. You will design your avatar, and then choose one of the following stretch goals (or more if you want!):

Research: Page 1 of Google Slides: collect at least 10 different inspiration images for your avatar. You can reference cartoons, bitmojis, other avatar designs, etc. Page 2 of Google Slides: Find different examples of emotions that you would be interested in creating for your avatar's emojiis (facial expressions) Sketch: Sketch 4 versions of your avatar. Practice different proportions, outfits, etc. These sketches can be as detailed or rough as you like. Be sure to photograph your sketches so that you can turn them into Google classroom. Finish your robot and you have some time to kill?
